The Next Chapter

You know that feeling you get when you finally finish something you've put a lot of time and effort into? It's a feeling of accomplishment mixed with sadness for leaving something that has become so familiar to you. Some people call it a bitter sweet feeling. Well, I've had that feeling a lot lately. It's exciting to move on but also a little scary to jump into the unknown future. The rest of our lives aren't mapped out for us like they were when we were kids. But with a little faith, we are confident that everything will work out for the best.

Ben and I finished working at the power plant yesterday. We were so happy that we literally danced out to the car. We both still wake up around 4:30 wide awake...but hopefully that will change soon! We are both battling icky colds this weekend. No one likes being sick, but we can't help but be grateful for the timing of our illnesses. We have the weekend to recuperate without having to worry about work. And we should both be good as new before we take off for California next week.

I promise to take lots of pictures on our trip...I've been slacking in that department lately. But we are finally doing something picture-worthy!

Workaholics

To all 3 people who actually read our blog, I appologize for making you wait so long to hear from us. But if you had the ridiculously small amount of free time that we've had lately, you wouldn't be spending it blogging either! Our work hours just got reduced from 72 to 60 a week, so I've found myself with a little extra time to catch you up on our lives!

Too bad there isn't much to catch up on! We have been working, working, and working. For those who don't know, we have been in Washington since late March working at a nuclear power plant during their refuling outage. We feel so blessed to have this job, but we are both exhausted and ready to return to our home in Idaho. Luckily we only have two more weeks to endure! We are both ready to trade in our hard hats and scrubs for flip flops and shorts.

That's right, we'll need those flip flops and shorts when we leave for beautiful, sunny California! We are heading out at the end of the month. We are hitting SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo, Disneyland, and Universal Studios. We are so excited!!! We are calling it a second honeymoon. You have permission to be jealous.

Do you know what the most annoying thing in the world is? Waking up and realizing your alarm is going to go off in one minute. I don't know how, but I've gotten really really good at waking up at 4:24 a.m. I always cross my fingers that it's only midnight, but no! Today, my day off, I woke up at exactly 4:26 a.m. Ha. Take that, alarm clock.
